Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 23 / Trend M.Aliyev /
The ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) has organized the event titled "Decade of the 21st century-Azerbaijan's development strategy".
Speaking at the event, Vice Prime Minister Ali Hasanov said President Ilham Aliyev worthily continues National Leader Heydar Aliyev's policy.
"We have to be thankful to the God that not the forces desiring to collapse Azerbaijan, but Ilham Aliyev come to the power after Heydar Aliyev's death," he said.
Hasanov said Azerbaijani First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also plays a huge role in development of literature, education and health spheres in the country.
"President Aliyev's daughter Leyla Aliyeva has also achieved great success in bringing together the Azerbaijani youth living in Russia. All these gives ground to say that the Aliyev family is the political family and this family will long serve to Azerbaijani people's welfare," he said.
Some 3.4 billion manat have been allocated to improve the social conditions of refugees and IDPs in Azerbaijan over the past decade, he said. Of these funds, Hasanov said, 2.6 billion manat were allocated from the state (the state budget and SOFAZ's budget).
Some 73 percent of these funds have been allocated over seven years during Ilham Aliyev's presidency.
"The work done over the past 10 years turned Azerbaijan into the center of the Turkish world, host of the international events and center of the world religions' tolerance," Hasanov said.
NAP Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary Ali Ahmedov said the important event took place in Azerbaijan's history of independence during Ilham Aliyev's presidency. The period is remembered with the economic development and strengthening of the state.
"Over the past 10 years, the country's economy, as well as other sectors, has developed. This was achieved due to continuation of Heydar Aliyev's conceptual and successful political path," he said.
Agriculture Minister Ismat Abbasov said the leading economic development achieved by the country during the Soviet period collapsed due to the social-political developments in the end of the 20th century.
"The Azerbaijani agriculture sector moved to the new development stage with National Leader Heydar Aliyev's coming to power. The sector rapidly increased in 2000-2009," he said. "And Ilham Aliyev has ensured the development of the country's non-oil sector, particularly agriculture sector, since the first days of his presidency."
