The Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries (TurkPA) will observe the parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan, which will be held on Jan. 15, General Secretary of the Assembly Ramil Hasanov told at press conference in Baku.
According to Hasanov, after the elections TurkPA will submit a report on their results, and OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) PA, CIS PA and other international organizations will refer in their reports to the views and data of TurkPA.
Hasanov said there are countries and organizations in OSCE and other international organizations, which try to hinder the activity of TurkPA.
"TurkPA prefers to operate not only in the Turkic-speaking, but also in other countries, and its activity is not directed against any country or organization," Hasanov said.
He said the meeting of TurkPA Commission on legal issues will be held on Dec. 21 in Ankara. The meeting will approve a report on the work in the sphere of international relations and proposals for future activity. These documents will be presented at the third plenary session of TurkPA, which will be held in Bishkek in 2012.
TurkPA was established in Baku in 2009. The secretariat of the organization is also in Baku. The Secretariat consists of General Secretary, his deputies from Turkey and Kazakhstan, and the expert group.
TurkPA includes Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
The main purpose of TurkPA is mutual support of Turkic-speaking countries in international organizations, exchange of legislative work experience, protection of language, culture and history of the Turkic-speaking countries, the strengthening of political, economic and cultural ties among the member-countries.
