BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 21. Azerbaijan is making every effort to sign a peace treaty with Armenia as soon as possible, First Deputy General Director of TASS Mikhail Gusman told Trend on the sidelines of the Second Shusha Global Media Forum on the topic “Exposing false narratives: combating disinformation”.
"I would like to hope that the Armenian side will respond to this with the same steps. But the Armenian Prime Minister’s refusal to meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in London is not a well-thought-out and not very promising position," Gusman added.
Regarding the forum, Guzman noted that, firstly, this event has its own traditions.
"Secondly, today there are not many such important events in the world that attract the attention of journalists around the world. It was here, in Shusha, that journalists from 50 countries arrived. Therefore, I would like to thank the organizers of the event, which is taking place in liberated Shusha, a city famous for its cultural and historical traditions," Gusman said.
The Second Shusha Global Media Forum, organized on the occasion of the 149th anniversary of the national press of Azerbaijan, is attended by more than 150 foreign guests from 50 countries, including news agencies from 30 countries, 3 international organizations and 82 media entities. Among the participants of the Global Media Forum are representatives of foreign media, as well as representatives of Azerbaijani media, experts and officials of Azerbaijan.
The forum will last until July 22.
