MOSCOW, Russia, October 7. Azerbaijan plays a constructive role in building a dialog in the post-Soviet space, the famous Russian political analyst, TV presenter, and public figure Maxim Shevchenko told Trend.

“I have great respect for the constructive role Azerbaijan plays in building a dialog and development strategy among the post-Soviet states. I am very optimistic about the firm and consistent policy formulated by the President of Azerbaijan, including in relations with the Armenian people. I have never heard a single statement from his mouth that would humiliate the dignity of the Armenian people. He always says that Azerbaijan wants peace,” Shevchenko said.

He emphasized that Russia does not want the South Caucasus to be a tool of the West's games, Western satellites, and Western agents.

“We want the states and peoples of the South Caucasus to agree among themselves, find a common language, establish good-neighborly relations so that the South Caucasus stops being a place where Western politicians fan the fire of war and the fire of hatred,” he added.
