“There is necessity of political will in order to continue dialogue in Azerbaijan,” Mauricio Pavesi

“I called on the authorities and the opposition to sit at the table of negations over 20 times. The sides will be able to continue serious dialogue with or without my participation, but there is necessity of political will, as well as determination of issues to be discussed during the dialogue,” Mauricio Pavesi, the head of the OSCE Baku Office, said to journalists on Tuesday, Trend reports.

He said that the final report of the OSCE/ODIHR on the parliamentary elections would be ready in early January 2006. “Ambassador Gir Arens, the head of the observation mission, said that the reports will be ready in the nearest 4 weeks,” Pavesi underlined.

As to the 26 November events, the diplomat noted that his position was clarified in the press release publicized by the OSCE Office on 27 November.

“My position was clearly presented in this statement,” Pavesi said. He underlined that the position of the OSCE on the parliamentary elections would be reflected in the final reports of the observation mission.
