The financial terrorism still remains as a global problem and the countries should co-operate to combat this, the United States Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse told, Trend reports. I am glad that Azerbaijan, United States and the Council of Europe jointly work on the settlement of this problem. The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev often mentions the increasing role of Azerbaijan in the region. The financial terrorism is one of the problems in which Azerbaijan may demonstrate its leading role, she stressed.
The Ambassador underlined that the USA will make all the necessary contributions in establishing a Financial Investigation Unit and relevant legislation in Azerbaijan.
As per, the money laundering problem in Azerbaijan, the Ambassador underlined that it is a problem that exists all over the world. This problem exists in all countries around the world and therefore, each country should combat this problem both at local and international level
