School to be Opened for Azeri Children in Latvia Ambassador

The Azerbaijani Ambassador to Latvia, Tofig Zulfugarov, exclusively informed Trend that initiated by the Azerbaijan Embassy, a holiday will be held for the children of the Azerbaijan Diaspora in Latvia on the occasion of the Solidarity of the World Azerbaijanis and New Year.

He said that the Embassy intends to continue the work with the Azerbaijan children. The plans include creating Sunday school for the Azerbaijan children.

According to the Ambassador, the goal of creating the school is to bring up the solidarity among the Azerbaijan children. Zulfugarov said that most of the Azerbaijan children residing in Latvia do not know their native language because they get education in Russian and Latvian languages. They will learn Azeri language at Sunday school. Special courses will be organized for the girls to teach them the national kitchen.

It should be mentioned that 1,750 Azerbaijanis are residing in Latvia, 2,500 in Lithuania, and 1,300 in Estonia.
