Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / On 28 December the Penal Service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Justice implemented the order on pardon signed by the State Head on the eve of the Solidarity Day of the World Azerbaijanis.
Today 117 prisoners were released. Azerbaijan President's 28 December order affected 119 prisoners, the sentence terms of two prisoners were decreased to half. The list of the pardoned prisoners also includes four women, two teenagers, five foreign citizens.
Since July 1995, 43 orders on pardon were signed. The orders affected 4703 prisoners/
Up to now eight amnesty acts have been made, which related to 78,000 people. The final act affected 2700 prisoners.
