OSCE Commences New Curriculum for Azerbaijani Police (video)

Azerbaijan, Baku 16 January / corr Trend K.Ramazanova / The Baku office of the OSCE announced the commencement of a new curriculum for employees of the Azerbaijani police force.

"The new program will help Azerbaijani police come closer to international democratic standards," Jose Luis Herrero, said during a presentation of the curriculum at the police school in Baku.

Initiated by the Baku Office of the OSCE, the curriculum was developed by the Interior Ministry and Czech Republic. Within the framework of cooperation teachers of the Azerbaijani school visited the Czech Republic and attended training.

According to Herrero, the quality of policemen's work depends on management by the justice bodies. "Good policemen should serve to maintain superiority of the court and protect human security," the Ambassador said.

Helena Tomkova, an official of the Czech Interior Ministry, said that the next training session will be held in Prague in February.
