Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 6 / Corr. Trend R. Ergun /
Trend interviews Rashad Sadigov, captain of Azerbaijan's national football squad, who is currently training with Kocaelispor in Turkey.
Trend: Who offered you to sign with Kocaelispor?
Rashad Sadigov: I was invited by the club's president. I am currently training with the team. Some people think I came to Turkey for a trial. But that is not so. The president asked me to sign with them.
Q: You participated in Kocaelispor's match with Samsunspor. And the squad lost 0:4. Were you satisfied with how you played?
A: I could not train for 15 days after I arrived in Turkey. So taking this into account, I could not play well. But reps from several other clubs watched the friendly and became interested in me.
Q: Many people were surprised by the score. Was the rival team that strong?
A: Several newspapers and Web sites said I played poorly. But in reality that is not true. Kocaelispor's bench had to play during the match. I wanted to play myself and think I played okay.
Q: Kocaelispor has financial problems. Could this prevent you from signing with the club?
A: I am not interested in the financial side that much. I only think of the game when it comes to football. I think that if I sign with the club, the financial side will not be an issue.
Q: Is it possible to transfer to another club?
A: The situation with Kocaelispor is a bit complicated. So I need to wait a little.
