Heydar Aliyev Foundation reconstructs St. Maria Church in Baku

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation reconstructed the St. Maria Church in Baku as part of the project "Azerbaijan - address of tolerance", implemented jointly with the Roman Catholic religious community, the Foundation told Trend on July 7.
Under the support of the Foundation, acoustical ceiling was replaced with art design and the facade of the building was changed.
The Heydar Aliyev Foundation which pays particular attention to the restoration of religious and historical monuments began its reconstruction in 2006.
In 2007, as part of the project "Azerbaijan - address of tolerance", the Foundation decided to reconstruct Catholic and Orthodox churches in the country, along with reconstruction of mosques in the Buzovna settlement of Baku.
In 2008, the Orthodox Church was reconstructed in Baku.
In 2009, the Foundation allocated funds to restore five windows of the Strasbourg cathedral church of the XV century.
