Betting shops will begin to operate in Azerbaijan in next 10 days, Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov told journalists on Monday.
"Azinteltek, which is engaged in it, prepared up to 300 post-terminals and holds training on the management of this equipment," Rahimov said.
The Ministries of Taxes and Finance agreed that tax on the activities of firms will make up to six percent.
According to Rahimov, all those offices and points that illegally operated to date will suspend activities.
He said the football matches of the Azerbaijani Premier League will not be included in the tote.
Aug.23, the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers identified the share of funds from the activities of sports totalizators directed towards the development of physical culture and sports in the country.
Upon the decision, 4.2 percent of the funds invested by the players of sports totalizators will be directed towards the development of physical culture and sports in Azerbaijan.
From this year, the activities of sports totalizators in the country will be governed by the state.
Azeridmanservis department has been established under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which will implement activities of totalizators in cooperation with the Turkish İnteltex Company.
