Prominent Azerbaijani poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzade's poem, "Gulustan," has been published in the Kyrgyz and Azerbaijani languages in separate fascicles in Bishkek upon the order and with the financial support of the Turkic-Speaking Countries Policy Support Foundation.

The poem was published to promote Azerbaijani literature. Young poet Altynbek Ismayilov translated the poem from Azerbaijani. Experts say this is the first high-level piece of Azerbaijani poetry published in Kyrgyzstan in recent years.

The project's principal consultant was Azerbaijani National Academy Sciences member Nizami Jafarov, with Ahmed Huseynov, Ganira Pashayeva, Nusret Mammadov, Hikmat Mammadov, Gafar Aliyev and Shakir Hasanov acting as consultants. The project was designed by Novruz Mammadov, Agil Hajiyev and Nizami Jafarov. The project was edited by folk poets Sooronbay Zhusuev and Zhumadin Kadyrov. The project's circulation is 1,000 copies.

Vahabzade's book of poems "We Are On The Same Ship" will be published in Kyrgyz in the near future. The book will include "Gulustan" in Azerbaijani, Kyrgyz, Russian and English.

"We think that the mayn readers will enjoy (these) publications," Mammadov said.
