Azerbaijan, Baku, May 16 / Trend, I. Isabalayeva /
The cost of service packages for those wishing to vacation in Turkey rises only when hotel prices increase, chairman of Azerbaijan Tourism Association Nahid Bagirov told Trend today.
He said that when prices on Turkish hotels did not increase, the cost of packages remained unchanged.
"Ticket and hotel prices have not increased this year compared to last year," he said. "The prices are the same as last year. After all cheap rooms are sold, people come to the hotel and wish to stay. In this case, only expensive rooms are available and people say that the travel companies raised prices."
As opposed to tourists from other countries, Azerbaijani citizens wishing to visit any country do not book a room 4-5 months before arrival, he added.
He added that if those wishing to vacation in Turkey had booked rooms by May 1, the hotels would have offered a 20-30 percent discount.
