Azerbaijani community in Iran is very influential

Azerbaijani community in Iran is very influential, Judaic Moris Motamedi, deputy of parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran, made such a statement at the press-conference on the topic Situation of national minorities in Iran. Parliament and nuclear program of Tehran in Moscow, special correspondent of Trend in Moscow reports.

According to him, the influence of Azerbaijani community is proved by the fact that after protest against publication of a cartoon in one the Iranian newspapers, the heads and offenders of this cartoon were punished. Speaking about the assessment of Iranian parliament on bloody confrontation in South Azerbaijan, Motamedi noted that the question was discussed in the Iranian parliament and received an intensive reaction. Speaker of Iranian parliament called all mass media to follow the journalist ethic. It is clear that all Iranian Azerbaijanis have a strong patriotism feeling, they are ancient and pure citizens of Iran. Except several groups of population, I dont think that it may seriously jeopardize the country because we are parts of a single nation, stressed Motamedi.

Motamedi disagreed with the statement that Iranian government applies anti-Semitism. Touching on the statement of Iranian president on Israel, Motamedi told If we are supporters of freedom of word, then it may be considered that the Iranian president appeared in his own position. In this case the Iranian president didnt have any negative influence on the situation of Judaic community in Iran.

Answering the question about the Iranian nuclear program, the Iranian deputy stressed that this question turned from technical issue into a political one. Iran faces pressures, but majority of deputies of Iranian parliament insist on realization of Irans right to use modern nuclear technology in the energy. Iranian people is proud of development of researches, therefore it has turned into a national idea, emphasized Motamedi.
