Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend A.Badalova / European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will sing investment projects in Baku, EBRD Baku Office reports. The First Vice President Varel Freeman will visit Azerbaijan on 30-31 October. Freeman will meet with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, government ministers and representatives of the diplomatic community. He will also have meetings with business leaders and sign a number of new EBRD investment projects.
On 31 October the First Vice President will sign a $35 million syndicated loan to Unibank.
To-date, the EBRD has signed over 50 investments worth almost $1 billion in Azerbaijan. The Bank is focused on the development of a strong financial sector, the support of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and the development of the non-oil private sector.
