GDP Growth Rate Drops Again in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr I. Khalilova / In January to October, Azerbaijan's GDP grew by 26.8% as compared to the same period of 2006, the State Statistics Committee reported on 16 November. By 1 November, GDP made up AZN 18.7bln. GDP per capita comprised AZN 2,217 ($2,577), an increase of 25.4%.

Production share in GDP increased by 33.7% and made up 71.2% (AZN 13.3bln). GDP in services sector rose by 11.2% and constituted AZN 3.875bln, and the specific weight of GDP dropped from 23% to 20.7%.

Production and import net taxes comprised 8.1% in GDP.

GDP in industry field comprised AZN 11.166bln (59.6% of total GDP), agriculture, hunting and forestry - AZN 934.1mln (5%), construction -AZN 1.243bln (6.6%), transport - AZN 962.6mln (5.1%), communications - AZN 325.5mln (1.7%), wholesale and retail trade, automobile field, domestic facilities and repair of private use articles - AZN 1.041bln (5.6%), restaurant and hotel sector - AZN 156.9mln (0.9%), social and other services - AZN 1,388bln (7.4%).
