Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 February /corr. Trend S.Babayeva / The Azerbaijan's Ministry of Education positively assesses the corrections recently made to the regulations of student admission by the State Commission for Student Admission, although the correction were not coordinated with the Ministry, said Misir Mardanov, the Minister of Education on 21 February. "Although, there were no consultations with the Ministry, but still the possibilities for the students have expanded," he said.
The changes to the regulation of student admission seem to be as follows:
- 25 questions will be asked in all the subjects, in all the specialties (in general 125 questions).
- in the first group of specialty, coefficient for physics and mathematics has been determined at 2 (formerly 2.5 for mathematics and 1.5 for physics).
- in Russian sector, there will be 30 questions on Azeri language (formerly 20).
- the psychology specialty has been transferred from the third group to the fourth group of specialty.
- the applications for admission to higher educational institutions will be accepted via Internet.
- contest for the specialties, requiring special capability, will be held on the basis of the middle point collected in the exams, for determination of the capability.
- after announcing the results of admission to higher educational institutions, a selection of specialties will be held for the failing entrants.
