Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 March / corr Trend S.Agayeva / The national air company of Jordan Royal Jordanian Airlines will set up regular air flights from Baku to Amman from 1 April, Elman Arasly- the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan, told Trend over telephone on 14 March.
"Flights will be started twice a week by the airliners of Jordanian company. In case of the profitability, the sides will consider an issue on increase in the number of flights," the Ambassador said.
Arasly said that opening of direct air flights will assist the Jordanian businessmen and tourist companies, which attach great importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The issue on opening of a direct air flight, which was raised during the Azerbaijani President's visit to Jordan in 2007, was coordinated during the visit of a Royal Jordanian Airlines delegation to Baku. As a result of the talks with AZAL air company of Azerbaijan, the sides signed a contract, which envisages the company to start the Baku-Amman air flights.
"The opening of direct air flight, connecting the two countries, will promote the increase of capital investments by Jordanian businessmen in Azerbaijani eonomy. Goods turnover for the two countries will increase the number of tourists," the diplomat said.
