Kazakhstan Intends to Export About 6mln Tons of Grain: Minister

Kazakhstan, Astana, 22 September / Trend corr. K.Konirova / Kazakhstan intends to export about 5.5mln-6mln tons of grain in 2008, Akilbek Kurishbayev, the Agriculture Minister said in Astana on 22 September.

"The gross harvest of grain crops are forecasted at 17mln tons level in Kazakhstan, which will enable export about 5.5mln - 6mln tons of grain," Kurisbayev said at the Parliament during the Government Hour.

About 15.6mln tons of grain has been threshed, he said.

"Quality of grain is better in 2008 than in 2007," Kurishbayev said.
