Some 20 Iranian companies will participate in the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2008 on Nov. 14 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, the official IRNA news agency reported here Tuesday, reported Xinhua.
Over 7,000 participants from India along with as many as 38 countries are expected to show their goods during 15 days fair on Nov. 14-27, according to the report.
The Iranian participation came after Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki earlier this month urged Iran and India to envisage modern ties.
In an Iran-India joint economic commission meeting, which was wrapped up on Nov. 3 and attended by visiting Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Mottaki expressed hope for further expansion of trade, economic and industrial relations between the two nations.
The trade volume between Iran and India has reached 9.3 billion U.S. dollars and India is one of Iran's main trade partners, said Mottaki.
