Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 30 / corr. Trend E. Ismaylov / Baku Metro got the last batch of 11 new wagons produced by Metrovagonmash open joint stock company, Metro said on Dec. 30.
"One of these days we got new wagons [11]. They will be put into operation early in January," the source said.
Four of eleven wagons are locomotive but the rest ones are intermediate, the source said.
These deliveries are conducted within the framework of contract with Russian Metrovagonmash open joint stock company (it is a part of Transmashholding closed joint stock company). Under terms of the contract Metro wagons of 81-717.5Б and 81-714.5Б models (14 head and 22 intermediate accordingly) will be delivered.
Baku Metro got the first batch of 10 wagons in spring and the second batch (10 wagons) in autumn. Later the Metro got five more wagons, the source said.
The previous Metro wagons were delivered to
Azerbaijan in 2007. Then, 25 wagons were delivered to Baku Metro.
Mitishin plant delivers tube stock for Baku Metro more than 30 years. The wagons produced in a plant near Moscow make up 80%.
