Stocks end lower in Mexico, higher in Argentina

Latin America's three major stock markets ended mixed on Tuesday, Xinhua reported.

Mexico City's IPC stock index dropped 1.0 percent to 23,005.41 points. A total of 272.40 million shares were traded with a value of about 428.7 million U.S. dollars.

At the Buenos Aires stock market, the Merval index closed at 1,214.28 points, up 5.42 percent. The trade volume was 21.90 million U.S. dollars.

In Sao Paulo, Latin America's biggest bourse, the leading Bovespa index closed at 42,312 points, up 1.91 percent. The trade volume was 1.96 billion dollars.
