The Ganja automobile plant (Azerbaijan) is planning to ink an agreement with the Minsk tractor plant (Belorussia) to create a joint enterprise producing Belarus tractors in Azerbaijan, Ganja automobile plant President Khanlar Fatiyev said.

"The manufactured products will mainly be exported to Turkey. In 2008, the tractor import to Turkey hit 23,000 units," Fatiyev said.

Ganja automobile plant will open a representative in Istanbul, Turkey shortly.

This year Ganja automobile plant is planning to sell 300-500 tractors. However, the plant has to provide after-sale service and create conditions to implement repair in the whole territory of the country in order to implement the sale of tractors in Turkey. The plant will improve partner relations with one of Turkish companies to remove this problem. The negotiations in this direction are underway, Fatiyev said.

The new enterprise will manufacture tractors with further sale in Iran, Turkey, and Georgia and in the south of Russia.

According to marketing research, the plant is able to produce 5,000 tractors per year for local market

The agreement on manufacturing and sale of automobiles and tractors of Minsk production was signed in the late November 2006.

Ganja City is located 265 km west of Baku.
