Baku Metro plans to complete construction of the first two stations Memar Ajami-2 by late of 2012, a source in metro said.
A source said that designing work is under completion. The work on the transfer of communications and relocation of facilities belonging to the construction zone is also over.
"Construction work is scheduled to begin in May. The work will complete in 2012," a source said.
A third subway line will be organized in accordance with modern requirements. Unlike the other lines, the diameter of the tunnel of the third line will be 5.8 meters and station platform will be calculated for seven cars.
A source said that another new station - "Mushfig" is under construction. It will be constructed in the middle of next year," he said.
Baku metro should get a new installation for the construction of tunnels produced by German company Herrenknecht.
Baku Metro has been functioning since 1967 and has 22 stations.
