Micro-lending growth remains in Azerbaijan

As of early April, the total assets of members of the Azerbaijan Microfinance Association (AMFA) amounted to $3.635 billion compared to $3.629 billion as of March 1 or 0.2 percent more, the AMFA said.

The number of employees of credit institutions, dealing with microfinance reaches 7,603 people.

The total loan portfolio of organizations hit $2.14 billion compared to $2.12 billion March 1. Number of active clients reached 429,740 people. The share of portfolio under risk (by exceeding the maturity of the loan by 30 days) amounted to 8.16 percent. The volume of written-off loans as of early April amounted to $2,513.

The total microcredit portfolio amounted to $451.6 million compared to $449.2 million as of early March or more than 0.5 percent. The share of portfolio under risk hit 3.15 percent.

At present, the AMFA members include 31 credit organizations, including 13 banks.
