The volume of work carried out under the first construction of the Baku ring road, exceeded 80 percent, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Transport said.
Construction of the road will allow vehicles moving from the south and the west of the country to continue its movement in a northerly direction without entering into the capital.
According to the report, a six-lane road will consist of three sections. The total road length is 21.5 kilometers.
The head of JSC "Azeryolservis" (road construction) under the Ministry of Transport Javid Gurbanov said that the ring road is planned to be commissioned in August this year.
The Baku ring road No 1 is being constructed by the Turkish-Kuwaiti consortium Mak-Yol-Kopri. The contract value is estimated at $51 million at a total cost of the road at $59 million.
