In January-May, 9.8 million tons were transported by cars compared to 9.6 million tons in January-May last year, the Georgian government said.
According to the report, 8 million tons were transported by railway compared to 6.3 million tons in January-May last year.
In January-May this year, 4.9 million tons were transported by air compared to 4 million tons during the same period last year.
Last year, the railway transported 17,1 million tons of cargo and road transport - 28,2 million tons.
Georgian transport sector transported 45,3 million tons in 2009 compared to 49 million tons in 2008.
