The State Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection Service under the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry's monitoring revealed low iodine content in the salt "Bereket" produced in the Khirdalan city, the ministry reported.
The inspection revealed that 900-gram pack of salt "Bereket" has iodine content below the norm, and the data indicated on the label was incorrect. The salt of unknown origin was also used in the production process.
As a result, the service suspended sale of 3.2 tons of salt. The State Service has also ordered the company to stop production and sales.
