Consumer prices for agricultural products in Azerbaijan increased by 1.1 percent in August compared to the previous month, the State Statistics Committee has said.
Prices for melons and horticultural products increased by 2.4 percent during the month. Prices for livestock products decreased by 0.4 percent. Prices for grown goods increased by 12.1 percent, with price increases recorded for cereals (8 percent), root vegetables (6.8 percent), other vegetables (4.9 percent), potatoes (1.6 percent), and sub-tropical fruits (0.2 percent). Prices for citrus fell by 1.7 percent and for olives and nuts by 3 percent.
Prices for mutton dropped by 0.2 percent, while price decreases were also recorded for poultry (5.1 percent) and eggs (8.4 percent). Prices for goats' milk and sheep milk rose by 1.9 percent, for wool by0.3 percent and for beef by 1.2 percent.
Timber prices also rose by by 0.4 percent during August.
