Azerbaijan suspends sale of fake cables and wires

The State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development revealed that the company produced electric cables and wires labeled as products of Siemens and Turkish Alkan Kablo during inspections at "Azergoktel" Ltd in Ramana settlement of Sabunchi district in Baku.

The State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development revealed that the company produced electric cables and wires labeled as products of Siemens and Turkish Alkan Kablo during inspections at "Azergoktel" Ltd in Ramana settlement of Sabunchi district in Baku.

"It misleads consumers and leads to unfair competition", a statement said.

As a result, over 92.400 meters of electric wires were revealed. Their labels do not comply with regulatory requirements. Over 191.3 kilograms of fake packaging were revealed.

The service suspended production and sale of cables and wires of "Azergoktel" Ltd and instructed the company to destroy 191.3 kilograms of fake packaging.
