In January-September of 2010, the amount of industrial production in Azerbaijan hit 20.4 billion manat, or 3.1 percent more than the same period of 2009, the State Statistics Committee reported.
During this period, the share of the private sector increased by 2.3 percent and hit 81.8 percent of the total industry production.
The amount of production in the extractive industry increased by 2.1 percent and hit 15.54 billion manat (with weight 76.1 percent).The specific weight of the processing industry hit 18.7 percent, gas and power engineering - 4.6 percent and water sector - 0.6 percent.
The amount of the oil production by AIOC increased 2.5 percent and amounted to 32.2 million tons and gas production increased by 5.2 percent and amounted to 7.8 billion cubic meters.
The amount of the production in processing industry increased by 7.9 percent and amounted to 3814,7 million manat. During the reported period, significant growth was observed in food products production. The production of pasta in the country increased by 52.7 percent and hit 14,800 tons, meat - 3.9 percent (184,800 tons), milk - 3 percent (476,800 tons), butter - 0.9 percent (15,700 tons), cheese and curd - 2 percent (32,500 tons), vegetable oil - 23.7 percent (30,700 tons).
The official exchange rate is 0.8012 manat to $1 on Oct. 23.
