Garagum Bank was founded in 1993 by the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Halk Bank of Turkey and the two commercial banks of Turkmenistan.
The bank's main activities are to promote small and medium business in Turkmenistan. The bank has a general license to conduct transactions in foreign currency and provides services on the foreign currency deposit accounts. The banks carries out money transfers in a day to various banks around the world through a system of correspondent banks.
