Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili urged investors to invest in the development of the Anaklia free tourism zone in the Samegrelo region.

According to the president, the government will build a road to the free tourism zone for transporting mineral sources and also build an airport to serve Zugdidi and Anaklia.

Investors have by late January to sign construction contracts on the already designed buildings. They will be exempt from income and property tax for 15 years.

Saakashvili also said a hotel should be built with 100 rooms and the investor who takes on the project will have the right to open tax-exempt casinos.

The president also said coast strengthening works have already begun, which will increase the beach area by 60-80 meters.

Construction should be completed in 18 months, Saakashvili said.
