The new Armada-type "Captain Nagdaliyev" tanker belonging to the Palmali Group opened at the Besiktas Shipyard in Istanbul yesterday, Hurriyet reported.
The contract on construction of 10 tankers of "Armada" was signed between "Palmali" and "Besiktas on Oct.8, 2009. This is the second vessel, launched from the Besiktas shipyard, after the ship named in honor of National Hero of Azerbaijan Mubariz Ibrahimov.
The 10 tankers of 'Armada' first range and 5 tankers of 'New Armada' have been operated successfully in mixed rive-sea shipments of oil, black oil, diesel fuel and other petroleum products and vegetable oils, and for carriages in the Caspian, Black, Mediterranean, Baltic and North Seas, including sea passages around Europe and to Irish Sea in winter.
Length of design RST22M vessel is 139.95 m, its width - 16.6 m, hull height - 6.0 m. As compared to the first range of 'Armada' tankers those of second range have a better maritime function, deadweight increased by 650 tons in the sea, greater cargo tanks capacity with the same possibilities in river.
