Kyrgyz minister appeals to Parliament to approve bill to reduce food prices

The Kyrgyz Minister of Agriculture Torogul Bekov requests the Parliament to approve the package of draft laws to hold back growth of food prices, 24.kg reported. He voiced such statement at the parliamentary session today.

He says that the Ministry of Agriculture submitted the package of documents for approval to the government. Documents enlarge the powers of the relevant department in the sphere of ensuring the food security and pricing policy. "This is draft laws "On Competition", "On Licensed Monopoly", and "On Domestic Trade," noted Bekov.

He stressed that if the government took the relevant decree and allowed the Ministry of Agriculture to interfere into the pricing policy then today prices on very oil and flour would be significantly reduced.
