Industrial output in Uzbekistan reaches 33.59 trln. soums in 2010

In January-December 2010, the total volume of industrial output in Uzbekistan made up 33.58 trillion soums, or grew by 8.3 percent compared to January- December 2009, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
In the reporting period, the production of consumer goods made up 11.263 trillion soums (+12 percent year-on-year), of which share of food products was 4.711 trillion soums (+8.2 percent) and non-food products - 6.552 trillion soums (+14.9 percent).
Fuel industry (19.2 percent of total industrial output), machinery and metal processing (16.2 percent), light industry (13.4 percent) and food industry (12.6 percent) accounted largest share in total industrial production of Uzbekistan in the reporting period.
At the same time, the share of fuel industry fell by 1.3 percentage point year-on-year, machinery and metal processing - 0.2 percentage point. Share of light industry grew by 1.1 percentage point in 2010, the committee said.
In particular, fuel industry produced goods for 6.44 trillion soums (+3.5), machinery and metal processing - 5.433 trillion soums (11.6 percent), light industry - 4.49 trillion soums (+17.3 percent) and food industry - 4.232 trillion soums (+13.1 percent).
