KFW launches 'Cadastre and registration of real estate' project in Azerbaijan

In January the State Property Committee of Azerbaijan launched a 'Cadastre and registration of real estate' project in the cities of Ganja and Sheki, the State Committee said Tuesday.
The main purpose of the project is to develop a system of cadastre and registration of real estate in the cities of Ganja and Sheki, improve the quality of services in real estate registration, as well as increase the efficiency in this area.

Presentation of the project was conducted in those cities by the consultants from GFA/GCI Consortium, who were involved by German Development Bank KFW.

'Cadastre and registration of real estate' project is realized as part of an agreement on financial cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Germany.

The project will be implemented in two phases. The first phase consists of consulting services, and the winning bidder on this component of the project was GFA/GCI Consortium. The company has already submitted an action plan to the State Committee and in January began to work.

The project is envisaged for 30 months. To implement the project, KfW has allocated preferential loan of $2.5 million euros and a grant of one million euros to institutionalize the organization - the beneficiary.
