Iran's Guardian Council approves merge of five ministries into two

Iran's Guardian Council approved formation of 2 ministries, Mehr News Agency reported quoting Guardian Council spokesman Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaei as saying.

Iran's Guardian Council approved formation of 2 ministries, Mehr News Agency reported quoting Guardian Council spokesman Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaei as saying.

"Members of Guardian Council reviewed the government demand to merge Cooperatives, Labor, Welfare and Social Security, and combine of Mines and Industries with the Ministry of commerce. It did not consider the parliament resolution against the constitution,"

Iran's parliament approved formation of 2 ministries on the bases of five ministries with 174 votes for, five votes against and 5 votes abstained.

Ministries of Cooperatives, Labor, Welfare and Social Security merged into one, while the Mines and Industries joined with the Ministry of commerce and formed a new ministry.

According to the law, all functions and administrative powers of these ministries are transferred into two new ministries of "Cooperatives, Labor and social Security" and "Industry, Mines and Trade" .
