USAID as a part of a competition and trade project in Azerbaijan has developed basic principles of advanced competition legislation.
Foundation to Promote Entrepreneurship and Market Economy President Sabit Bagirov said the country's parliament will consider the draft Code on competition in fall. Theretofore, the foundation jointly with USAID developed proposals to improve legislation in this area.
The agency previously supported various countries, including the post-Soviet, in the creation of the advanced legislation in this area, Project Head Melanie Schultz said.
Azerbaijani MP Ali Masimli said it would be advisable to prepare and submit all proposals to the legislature as a package.
Masimli believes it will allow to reduce prices and increase the share of business in the country's GDP.
