At a recent regular meeting of JSC Aeroflot's (Russia) Board of Directors it was decided to open representative office in Turkmenistan (Ashgabat), the company said on Monday.
"Aeroflot" is the leader of air transport in Russia, a member of global airline alliance SkyTeam.
Russian airline S7 (Siberian Airlines) is represented on the Turkmen market.
At present, regular flights from Ashgabat are carried out by national air carrier "Turkmen Hova Yullari" (Turkmenistan Airlines) to Azerbaijan, UK, Germany, Russia, Turkey, China, Iran, Pakistan, India and UAE.
Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan has been also included in this list in recent years. Negotiations are underway to open air route to France, Italy, Canada and other cities of the world.
