Kazakhstan forecasts GDP growth at 6 percent in 2012

The National Bank of Kazakhstan forecasts GDP growth in the country at 6 percent in 2012, Bank's head Grigory Marchenko said on Monday.

"According to our forecast, GDP growth will reach 6 percent in 2012," Marchenko said at a news conference in Almaty.

Meanwhile, according to Marchenko, economic growth will depend on the scenarios in the market.

According to Marchenko, the medium-term outlook for inflation remains at the level of 6-8 percent.

The country's GDP growth reached 7.5 percent in 2011, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov said on Monday. Meanwhile, GDP growth for 2011 was forecasted at 7 percent.
