As more phases of its South Pars gas and oil field come online, Iran's natural gas supply to fuel its petrochemical complexes will increase, Shana news agency quoted the top official saying.

At present, some petrochemical complexes face with a shortage of fuel, the head of National Iranian Petrochemical Company (NIPC), Abdol Hossein Bayat, said. This shortage will be removed when gas from South Pars' Phases 12, 15, 16, 17 and 18 can be used next year (Iran's solar year ends on March 20).

As petrochemical units are supplied with the fuel they need, they can increase their production and exports. Iran's petrochemical industry claims 44 percent of the country's non-petroleum exports.
