The GDP in Azerbaijan increased by 1.2 percent in January 2012 and amounted to 4.1 billion manat, the State Statistical Committee told Trend on Friday.
Nominal GDP growth was 6.4 percent. Volume per capita was 448.6 manat ($570.5).
Non-oil sector increased by 5.9 percent, amounted to 42.9 percent of GDP. The production volume declined by 2.4 percent in the oil sector and processing industries.
In January added-value in agriculture, hunting and forestry amounted to 105.3 million manat, which represents 2.6 percent of GDP; in the construction sector - 207.9 million manat (5.1 percent), transport - 114.3 million manat (5.2 percent), trade and repair of vehicles - 316.8 million manat (7.7 percent), telecommunications and information - 66 million manat (1.6 percent), the sphere of tourist accommodation and public catering - 49.2 million manat (1.2 percent), rendering social and other services - 476 million manat (11.7 percent).
The total volume of production in all sectors of the economy declined by 1.1 percent and amounted to 2.78 billion manat, where the basic share - 60.3 percent of GDP (2.5 billion manat) fall to industry. The production of added-value increased by 6.3 percent compared to January 2011 and amounted to 1.1 billion manat.
Net taxes on products and imports increased by 4.4 percent and amounted to 187.7 million manat or 4.6 percent of GDP.
