Pipelining operations have been completed at Iran's South Pars gas field, the IRIB reported.

The plan is aimed to transfer one billion cubic feet of natural gas from the offshore section of the field to refining facilities.

The first jacket platform of the South Pars gas field will be put into operation before winter, Mehr News Agency quoted deputy of Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company Amir Saeed Najafi as saying on July 7.

Pipelining operations at the phase 17 will be completed by September, he added.

At present, pipelining to the length of 40 kilometers has been carried out in the phase 18, he noted.

The South Pars gas field is shared by Iran and Qatar. The Iranian share, which is divided into 29 phases, has about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas, or about eight percent of the total world reserves, and more than 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas resources.

The Development plan of the phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars gas field aims to produce 50 million cubic meters of refined gas, 70 million cubic meters of ethane and 400 tons of sulfur per day as well as the production of one million tons of liquefied gas and 27 million barrels of gas condensate per year.
