In 2012, the Ministry of Taxes of Azerbaijan transferred 6.025 billion manat in tax payment revenue to the state budget, a statement published on the official website of the Ministry says.

Profit tax proceeds amounted to 37.4 per cent of total tax levies; value added tax - 24.6 per cent, income tax - 13.5 per cent, excise tax - 7.5 per cent and other taxes - 17 per cent.

The non-oil sector provided a receipt to the state budget of 3.287 billion manat which is 14.5 per cent higher than in 2011.

In 2012, 72,263 taxpayers passed state registration. The number of individuals registered in electronic form from July 1, 2011 to January 1, 2013 amounted to 55,086. The total number of taxpayers on January 1 totalled 481,710.

During 2011 the proportion of tax returns filed in electronically was 89.9 per cent.

The official exchange rate for January 14 is 0,7848 AZN / USD.
