Export of products from Azerbaijan to increase in 2014

In 2014, Azerbaijan plans to export products worth $30.7 billion, while the forecast for this year is set at $30 billion, the plan for socio-economic development of Azerbaijan for 2014 during the next three years reads.

It is forecasted that 90.9 percent of exports will be of oil, gas and related products, against the forecast for 2013 which is 92.2 percent.

Imports are projected at $11.5 billion, 85.4 percent of which will account for the oil sector.

The import is expected to reach $10.6 billion in 2013 and the share of non-oil sector will be 84.2 percent.

Thus, the volume of Azerbaijan's foreign trade in 2014 is projected at $42.2 billion against the forecast set at $40.6 billion for this year.

In January-September the volume of foreign trade operations in Azerbaijan amounted to $32 billion, which exceeds the figure for the same period of the last year by 3.7 percent.

Imports in the reporting period totalled to $7.9 billion, which is 14.8 percent more than in the same period of last year.

Foreign trade surplus amounted to $16.3 billion.
