By Fatih Karimov - Trend: An Iranian consortium has been established to cooperate with NVC international company to manufacture lighting products in Iran, the Tasnim News Agency reported on November 16.

Tasnim quoted the managing director of Afratab Company, one of the members of the consortium, as saying that the NVC will bring the world's latest technology into Iran.

Afratab managing director Ehsan Mivehchi criticized the import of low-quality lighting products, adding that the domestic market needs some 80 million lamps annually. He said that Iran should become a producer of high-technology LED lamps in the region.
