The Council of Elders of Turkmenistan will be held in Avaza, Turkmenbashi city, Balkan region, September 10, 2015, Turkmen Altyn Asyr TV channel reported.
The Council is held annually to discuss urgent issues of national importance and serves as an advisory body.
The preparation of this event was discussed at the recent meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. Some 3,000 people plan to attend the Council of Elders.
Previously, it was stressed that the Council of Elders is held following the ancestral sacred traditions and customs of the elders, paying tribute to their wisdom and authority. It is also held to actively involve the elders in the great achievements of national importance and to strengthen the unity.
