ICD head due in Azerbaijan

A delegation led by CEO and General Manager of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) Khaled Al-Aboodi will visit Baku in early December 2016, a source on the country’s finance market told Trend Nov. 3.

Al-Aboodi will visit Baku to take part in the international investment conference, to be held Dec. 8, said the source adding that President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Group Bandar Hajjar is likely to visit the country together with the ICD head.

The source noted that the conference will be the first and biggest one of this kind in Azerbaijan, aimed at attracting investments from Arab countries.

During the conference, guests will be acquainted with the latest reforms to improve the business environment, investment climate in the country and opportunities provided by Azerbaijan’s industrial parks for investors, added the source.

Meanwhile, other issues, including the risks and challenges that investors may encounter in Azerbaijan and which steps the government should take in order to simplify business conditions in the country, will also be discussed, according to the source.

Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with Persian Gulf countries amounted to $200 million in January-September 2016, according to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.
